September Moodboard, Intentions, and Playlist

September, New beginnings

The weather shifted here in Barcelona two days ago. I don’t think fall is here quite yet but it’s on it’s way. I always love the month of September because it holds an excitement of new beginnings and back-to-school energy that has me motivated to learn something new. Late summer also has the most magical weather with warm days and a slightly cool breeze and maybe a thunderstorm or two. The inspiration for the moodboard and the playlist this month was a late summer drive with the windows down and the wind in your hair. The color palette is earthy and grounded with a hint of dreaminess. These colors could be used for a gender-neutral brand selling services or goods rooted in nature.

Intentions This Month:

With the new season around the corner, and many different changes in my personal life this month, my intention is to get comfortable with the unknown. If this year has taught me anything, it is that even when we have clear plans and structures things can change. I am working towards finding peace of mind in the present moment and only focusing on how each day feels rather than trying to view life from such a zoomed out perspective.

Tarot Pull:

From the Animal Spirit Deck: the Lion: patient, regal, a complete master. When in balance, the lion energy is the epitome of peace and strength. When out of balance, the lion energy is withdrawn, and too serious. To bring into balance, practice daily meditations and friendship.

From the Illuminated Tarot Deck: The Three of Diamonds: Craftsmanship, successful collaboration, and admiration.

Both cards this month seem to be leaning towards mastering your own craft and energy while building upon healthy and fulfilling friendships. This feels like a perfect message as we head from late summer into early fall as we begin to turn more inwards and focus on our growth while simultaneously continuing to foster our relationships and share our gifts with others.

Favorite Things This Month:

  1. Rachel Sees Snail Shoes If you want to work with your hands in a way you never have before, why not learn how to make your own shoes? These kits are soo cool, and the shoes don't look like a sad homemade craft. I want to try this out, anyone with me?

  2. Peaches are my favorite fruit of all time. And these peach popsicles from my favorite vegan blog, The First Mess, look like the perfect way to ease into the end of summer and have a "healthy" treat.

  3. A lot of my friends happen to be talented dyers, using various different natural plants and materials to make their products, and I love to see their results. This article on dying with berries is a great example of how to do the same yourself. It is an incredible way to breathe new life into old clothes while harmonizing with mama nature.

  4. To keep a bit of the DIY and environmentalism theme going here, check out this article on how to make your own cleaning wipes using old t-shirts.

  5. If you have been hearing about Human Design either here on the blog, in a podcast or elsewhere and you would like to know more, this blog is an incredible resource.

  6. I have been figuring out how to add more pleasure into my life and this book speaks directly to how we can use our pleasure as a form of activism.

  7. I will be starting a sensual exploration challenge over on Instagram tomorrow if you are interested in adding more pleasure to your life too. I describe the specific exercises here, if you are curious to know more. Let's get sensual!
