November, Romanticizing the Lover
This month is ruled by the planet Mars. Mars is known for taking action, masculine energy, and intensity. We are balancing the energy of Mars with the depth of the Lover archetype. The color palette this month is warm and neutral to symbolize balance, yet the imagery is soft and romantic. This brand inspiration is ideal for any creative entrepreneur, photographer, or artist.
The Archetype of the Month
This month we are embodying the Lover archetype from the Kim Krans’ Archetype Deck. This archetype allows us to romanticize our lives. This phrase has been going around the internet lately and it seems like there is a collective calling for slowing down and finding joy in the smaller aspects of our everyday lives.
The lightest expression:
Being generous in the love and attention they give to those around them. They romanticize their lives and appreciate the beauty in the little things.
The darkest expression:
They can become obsessive and get lost in the people they give love and attention to.
The Benefits:
The lover archetype allows us to find romance in every part of our lives. The smallest things can bring us joy when we tap into the giddiness of being in love.
Ways to embrace the Lover archetype:
Dress sensually. Find fabrics that you like the feel of, colors that excite you, and shapes that flatter your form.
Connect with all of your senses as you go about your day. Maybe you light your favorite incense or candle, open a window to feel the breeze on your skin, or give yourself a loving massage. Slow down to notice the delicious flavors of your food.
Wear the colors blush, hues of red, black lace, or anything that makes you feel connected to your sensuality.
Lovers we are embodying: Pablo Neruda, Jack and Rose from the Titanic, and Marilyn Monroe
Tarot Pull
From the Animal Spirit Deck: The bear: This animal spirit gives us permission to express the dualities within our one body. The bear is fierce and strong yet also warm and cuddly. We need different sides of ourselves for different applications in our lives. Neither is inauthentic because we can be both. The bear also realizes balance is essential. There is a time for activity and there is a time for hibernation. As we head into winter, can we take a note from the bear and learn to rest?

Although Halloween has already passed, the spooky season is far from over. I have been obsessed with the Dark House podcast, created by two interior design editors who discuss various haunted houses and the details behind each one. They also interview psychologists, people who were directly associated with the houses, and lawyers specializing in paranormal circumstances. If you like a haunted house story, you will love this.
Daylight savings has already ended here in the UK and I can slowly feel the seasonal depression kicking in. I am very curious to try out this mask. Apart from looking incredibly futuristic, this mask has a UV light setting to help with mood and two others that are beneficial for acne and fine lines/wrinkles. It’s an investment but if it boosts my mood and plumps my skin, I can be convinced.
I have mentioned this incredible Latinx brand before but had to give them a shoutout again considering the gifting season is around the corner. As a girl with fine, but very thick wavy/curly hair, I have found it incredibly difficult to find products that don’t build up on my scalp.
Usually, anything made for curly hair is far too heavy for mine…this is where Ceremonia enters the chat. I have loved everything I have tried from them including the shampoo, conditioner, aceite de moska scalp oil, style refresher, and curl activator. And if you are looking for a deal, they are now sold at Sephora and their sale is on through this weekend ;)Speaking of seasonal self-care, one of my favorite herbal shops, Wooden Spoon Herbs just released a Magnesium powder that looks both delicious and super helpful for calming the nervous system and gut function. They also recently rebranded and their site and packaging are very inspirational and fun.
This feature from Dazed talks about the future of heterosexuality and I feel confronted by the thoughts and actions that have passed through my own mind many times over as a woman in a long-term hetero relationship.
Is the GIF dead? This article begs the question about the future of the short clip videos that have been a part of our digital communication. As a visual brand, I am deeply considering this.
