January 2022 Moodboard + Playlist
January, for the eternal child in us all
This month is ruled by Saturn, the planet of rules and boundaries. We are juxtaposing the energy this month by embracing our inner child and finding how we can work within and against the boundaries that hold us back. The color palette this month is the rainbow because what is possibly more cheerful and child-like than that? This brand inspiration would be perfect for anyone who feels like they have been taking themselves too seriously. This will help you lighten up for your clients, your customers, and yourself. It will bring a joyous and fun energy to everything you do.
The Archetype of the Month
This month we are embodying the Eternal Child Archetype. This archetype allows us to look at things with a set of fresh eyes. The eternal child is fearless and vibrant and seeks joy above all else. The energy of this archetype is perhaps a bit restless and wants to abandon all rules and boundaries.
The lightest expression:
Joyful, playful, accepts all and embraces magic
The darkest expression:
Addicted, selfish, and adrift. Tends to burn out.
Benefits:
Allows us to see the magic in the smallest details of life and dream big about our possibilities.
Ways to embrace the eternal child archetype
Instead of doing something on your computer, think of how you can embrace the magic of the day. How can you make your work more playful?
How can you do what you do in a completely new way?
Maybe pull out some markers and paper and just let yourself explore.
Wear something that’s a little quirky or a little silly. What would you wear as a child?
Tarot Pull
From the Animal Spirit Deck: The Lamb: This card shows up when we need to listen and get quiet. This goes hand in hand with the Eternal Child Archetype because the Lamb is also incredibly honest. When we sit in silence and listen to our deeper longings, we are experiencing the wisdom of the lamb. Going through the motions and tackling our daily responsibilities make it hard to hear these messages but when we can be more childlike, we may hear them sooner.
Favorite Things
Licorice Pizza was the first film I saw this year and it was such a joyous celebration of young love, music, and human experience, I highly recommend it.
I used to follow this brand for their beautiful dresses but somehow, they took a strong pivot last year and are creating clothing and shoes that I can’t tell if they are a hoax or not. My curiosity is piqued but also very confused.
I recently picked up the Happy Blend tea from this company, made in London, and it really is a cup of comfort. The roses and cacao shells make is spicy and uplifting, perfect for the winter blues.
I love Nicole Berri’s energy because it is playful, colorful, and fun. Her recipes are also easy to follow and comforting (usually plant-based) and make me smile.
This book has been recommended to me on multiple occasions and I think now is the time to dive in. I hope it helps me embrace these cold months with a sparkle of a child’s mind.
