July Moodboard, Playlist, and Dreams

July, an unimagined summer

Welcome to July! It is officially summer, the heat has arrived here in Barcelona, and we are trying to figure out what summer means in the middle of a pandemic. I created this moodboard to reflect the tone of the season. The color palette is bright, fresh, funky, and a little bit nostalgic. These colors would work great for a personal brand, a hip retailer, or a creator with a younger demographic.

Dreams This Month:

  1. That our planned wedding in September will still happen…we will likely postpone, but we were really hoping we could pull it off.

  2. The U.S. can flatten the COVID-19 curve so we can get this pandemic under control.

  3. Hoping my creative energy comes back so I can take advantage of this beautiful weather and make some photography magic!

Favorite Things This Month:

  1. WomanCode: This book just changed my life. It's been out for a while and I may be slow to the party but, wow, why didn't we learn all of this in sex-ed class? I am nearly 30 and blown away that I still know so little about how my body works.

  2. The Clock Zine: My best friend started this incredible monthly newsletter dedicated to all things WOMAN. Each month covers topics such as the pay gap, biological clocks, quarantine burdens and so much more.

  3. This month I have been focusing on cleaning up my diet a little and resetting my hormones. I don't know about you but I fell into some bad habits during the lockdown. I love Sweet Potato Soul's approach to vegan meal planning. It's simple and everything looks super nutritious, satisfying, and delicious.

  4. Rosiee's Rituals: My dear friend Rosa whom I just met recently and found out we share the same birthday, live in the same neighborhood, and we have the same occupation, has a side business creating these beautiful hand-dyed pareos (beach blanket). She uses natural plants to obtain the vibrant colors and bathes them under the full moon for good earthy vibrations. She is also selling gorgeous prints of her film photography, primarily of the sea, for the ultimate summer aesthetic. (Pictured on the bottom Left)

  5. Wear Your Snacks is a maker I came across recently who is creating beaded necklaces with your favorite snacks. She is donating 15% of the proceeds to @theokraproject, providing resources and meals to Black trans people worldwide. I am very tempted to get one that says 'castelvetrano olive'.
